WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is visiting with the staff planning some of Monday's inaugural festivities.

The White House said Obama dropped by the headquarters of the Presidential Inaugural Committee on Thursday to thank staffers for their hard work.

Reporters traveling with the president were not allowed to accompany him inside the building in southwest Washington.

Obama will take the oath of office in a private ceremony at the White House on Sunday. That will be followed by public festivities on Monday, including a ceremonial swearing-in, Obama's inaugural address, a parade down Pennsylvania Avenue and two official inaugural balls.
