Republicans and Democrats traded last-minute jabs on the Sunday morning talk shows, seeking to leverage late-breaking news in the runup to Tuesday's pivotal midterm election.

On Fox News Sunday, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin raised concerns about weakened national security, amid the investigation into bombs shipped as cargo to the U.S. from Yemen.

"I think it's going to be a political earthquake," Ms. Palin predicted of Tuesday's vote. She pointed to Obama administration policies that have led to "a woeful economy and...a lessening of our national security, those things that are foremost on American voters' minds."
