Today's News Briefs and Commentaries

Going into CPAC this year I was afraid it might be a little dead this year. After all, with such excitement last year over the presidential election, I was worried there might not be as much energy on behalf of the activists.

Boy, was I ever wrong.

This afternoon some feisty CPAC-ers held a "Tea Party" outside the White House to rally against bailouts, where Michelle Malkin fired up the troops. I took some video of her impromptu speech. And, Joe the Plumber even made a special appearance! More photos below.

Meanwhile, the Townhall guys were holding down the fort at the actual conference. And, yes, they are quite the crew of good-looking conservative men!

And, I got to hang out with a real-life taxpayer watchdog, lol

Joe the Plumber
I haven't seen anything this funny since Newt Gingrich kept taking a running start so he could run into Bill Clinton's outstretched fist. You guys are still using JOE THE PLUMBER? Do you know what the "P" in "CPAC" stands for?

the sign
I love the sign that says "My neighbor bought a big house and all I got was his lousy payments!" She sums it up perfectly with that sign. A majority of us waited until we could afford to buy a house and make our monthly mortgage payments on time. We are now being punished for those who were irresponsible.

tea party-EPIC FAIL
Even if these things drew 10,000 protesters nationwide it would still be far short of a Palin rally and certainly something obama's people wouldn't even blink at.

So nice to see the GOP try to be the party of the every man with joe the plumber. too bad the party is still run by the old boys network of political millionaires.

At least the dems are honest about who they want to lead and truth be told I'll take an ivy league educated liberal over some blue collar nobody anyday.

Okay, but if you take him you've got to promise to keep him.

I'll take the plumber. If I get a leak in my basement he can actually fix it. The ivy leaguer will only tell me to apply for a federal bailout.

Tea party?
LOL! Whinefest is more like it.

Have fun kids. The more to the right you keep bending, the less likely a force you are to reckon with in 2012.

Here's to the Tea Party of the Tone Deaf!

I'll take the blue collar person too. Ivy League, educated far beyond their intelligence, culls have been screwing things up since President Wilson.

I'll take anybody with common sense -- a trait that is badly lacking among the ivy league culls.

What do you get if you...
...educate a crazy person?

An educated crazy person.

That's why I'd take a sensible blue collar person who knows what he (or she) is doing to fix whatever real world problem (like plumbing) I may have--and pay him for it.

Educated crazy people (i.e. those who spend their whole lives trying to fit reality into their idea of how things "should" be) are worse than useless when it comes to fixing real world problems. They're downright dangerous--as we're seeing now.

BTW, Raelei and Frank, I include the two of you among the educated crazy people. Have fun when the real world blows up in your faces.

Good post, although the lefty trolls who are constantly posting here obviously are not educated. If they were, they would be working, even if it is for ACORN, the government or wherever. Imagine being such a titanic loser that you spend all day, everyday, posting sophomoric comments and insults on a blog site of your political opponents. LOL

This hurts conservatives
http://patterico.com/2009/02/27/cpac-is-this-the-image-repu blicans-want-to-project/ The Conservative Movement Unguarded. Seriously, good luck GOP and Conservatives. We will need it. This kind of nonsense is not good. This stuff does not help Jindal or Palin.
