In an 45-minute interview that aired Monday night, President Obama spoke with Charlie Rose about several timely issues including the NSA. Obama said that while there is potential for abuse, the American people should trust that the government will not abuse the programs. According to a report leaked to the AP, the US military will begin training women for combat roles by 2015. The Army will develop standards by July 2015 and qualified women could begin training as Navy SEALS by March 2016. Part of the new immigration reform bill includes a provision allowing the feds to use photo databases that state officials assembled to prevent driver’s-license fraud. Craig Timberg the National Technology Reporter for the Washington Post joined John and Amy to talk about the story. Plus, during the Miss USA pageant over the weekend, Miss Utah gave an incoherent rambling response to a question about equal pay that rivaled the Miss South Carolina flub a couple of years ago.
